Race for the Cure

The Nations Capitol was home to the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, today. Thousands of people walked and ran around the Mall to bring hope, awareness, faith, love, courage, strength, power and support...as it pertains to breast cancer. This disease impacts us in so many ways, whether directly or indirectly. This organization has raised the bar on awareness and each of us is held accountable to take action. What type of action, you may ask? It may be a self-examination, mammogram, sitting with a loved one during chemotherapy, assisting a friend with a wig, giving encouraging words to a stranger, sending a card or just smiling at someone with a bald head covered by a bandana. There are so many brave individuals battling this debilitating disease. I say to them and us all....There Is Hope.
